Abe Rick

Rick Cecil is our Principal Experience Strategist. He has 12 years of results-oriented experience envisioning and designing innovative solutions for a variety of companies, including Scripps Interactive, T-Mobile, AT&T, Motricity, Duke University, Fortunoff, La-Z-Boy, and Oxford University Press. He has worked at all stages of product lifecycle, from strategy and conceptualization to design and development. Rick co-founded the Interaction Design Group, now an international organization focused on the advancement and promotion of interaction design.

Abe Crystal, Ph.D., is our Principal Design Researcher. Abe earned his doctorate in Information Science from UNC-Chapel Hill, where his research focused on field studies of personal information management and personal productivity. He has worked with IBM, Microsoft Research, and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. He co-founded the Triangle Usability Professionals Association with Rick, and served as Vice President in 2006, President in 2007, and Chair of the Advisory Council in 2008 and 2009.

Jackson Fox is our Principal Interaction Designer. For the past 10 years, Jackson has been helping companies and academic institutions design and build engaging and usable web sites and applications. He brings a passion for cognitive and social psychology to the user research, user testing, information architecture, and interaction design efforts. In addition, Jackson is active in the User Experience community, providing leadership to the Triangle UPA chapter, organizing conferences like DCampSouth, and speaking at events such as DC Design Talks and Refresh the Triangle. Jackson earned his BS in Computer Science from The University of Colorado at Boulder, and his MS in Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
